Still laughing. I’m the Midwest one and all of them are true, except you have to add one:
There are two seasons in the midwest - winter, and road under construction.
Oh, I just saw that under Maine. Pooh pooh on my little joke.
BTW, I owe you ten points, since my doggie cartoon was deleted. I’ll pay you next Tuesday.
I am glad I live in the southeast! All y’all is not plural…it is you’uns. It is true about “in yonder, over yonder, and out yonder or back yonder.” The state joke is “men working.” My husband and I only have one first name, and they have more than one vowel as do the second names.
These are hilarious. Love them.
I lived in California two years, and never learned to eat an artichoke, but ate Mexican food a lot. Did learn not to leave my purse unattended in the grocery store; actually on the AF Base where my whole week’s pay was stolen and my wallet turned in at the front.
Florida has roaches as big as a fig and if you open the doors, they all come in to keep you company.
I think I will just stay where I am. It could be worse. Been there, done that.
Have you ever thought about publishing your writings? I’m thinking your market might be homey little restaurants with gift shops in the entrance and humorous, paperback booklets (YOURS) on the tables. After reading your question, the only sane answer is, “I’m never retiring!”
Not being all that wise, my answer is “The best place to retire is right where I am where I can keep an eye on my hubby and my gardens, both of which deserve my continued, devoted attention.”
Oh, Spike, I’ve missed you recently, but I see you are now Back In Black - bravo!
I’ve lived in some of the places you mention, and you are so very right.
I’ve seen my hometown, Pittsburgh, PA, touted as a place to retire. It supposedly has “cultural activities,” by which they mean Steeler-worship.
Anywhere you retire can be good, If you have enough income to sustain life (or even half-life if you are radioactive) and a sense of humor (you definitely have that, in spades!)
I was born in London and have lived in London ever since, the only thing is now I live in a Northern borough of London, just 10 minutes drive from the country. The best of both worlds.
Very funny. You’re a good writer.
Yeah, you forgot ‘winter and road construction’ for the seasons up here. And I don’t know about the midwest, but up here in the north west the superlative is ‘pretty good’. And you say ufda as a compliment on good cooking, or if someone falls down.
As for retirement…even with your very thorough descriptions, I have no clue as to where I am headed! I am seriously looking for a good retirement area…perhaps, I should consider outside the country!

I like to put on my smoking jacket and retire to the Billiard Room for Brandy and Cigars!

That was so cute, thanks for the laughs!
